After reenergizing and overhauling the Islip Town Republican Committee, new Chairman, Frank A. Tantone, and the new party leadership scored major victories last evening. The winners in Islip included incumbent Councilman Steve Flotteron; Trish Bergin, also elected to the Town Board; Suffolk County Legislator, Tom Baragga in the 11th Legislative District; Suffolk County Legislator Tom Cilmi, in the 10th Legislative District; and incumbent District Court Judges, Steve Lotto, Steve Behar, and Patricia Filiberto. “We are proud that the voters seemingly appreciate the changes we have made in the Islip Town Republican Committee. As the Chairman, I pledge to continue to promote the values and ideas that have made this party great by choosing the best candidates possible,” said Tantone.
All of the successful Islip candidates look forward to representing the voters in promoting low taxes, reduced government spending, and leading our community back to economic prosperity. The winning candidates will strive to promote open, transparent government, which serves the people. Tantone further stated that the newly elected officials will, “…put people first, and politics last. As the Chairman, I will see to it that government will always come before politics with our elected officials. I will do my job, so they can do theirs.”
